I had great times coaching my daughters for the West Long Branch Sports Association and the basketball program was always successful because of Mike, who worked endless hours and devoted a lot of his time. All the children involved in the sports programs benefited because of Mike. I also enjoyed working with Mike at GCU as we reminisced about our families. I will miss you Mike and I pray for the repose of his soul and for peace and consolation for his family.

Mike, everywhere I was there you were...St. Jerome School, West Long Branch Sports Association, Children of the King, Shore Pop Warner...it seems so many of my family's memories are intertwined with your family's, between our children and grandchildren. You were so especially kind to my son Fred; I will never forget you for that. To the Ricciardi family, we are all so saddened to hear of your loss. You are in our prayers.

Having holidays with Mr. Ricciardi and the family was always the best growing up. He always told us to call him Mike because Mr. Ricciardi made him feel old. I still called him Mr. Ricciardi, but I'll never forget every time that he would correct me when calling his name. He will be missed by everyone that knew him and will never be forgotten. I wish the best for the family and hope to see you guys soon. Be strong and think about the good times we all shared with Mike.

About 5 years after high school, I competed in a contest that was on tv. A couple days after the contest I received a phone call from Mike saying he saw me and just wanted me to know that the contest was great and that I should keep up the good work. I always remembered that call, by going out of his way, he made memory for me that last a life time. God bless.

My thoughts and condolences to Mr. Ricciardi's family. My family knew him and his very well and my father and Mike coached against one another many times in the WLB Recreational Basketball League in the 90's. I know Mike's kids Michelle and Vinny since we were probably 5 or 6 years old. To someone who spent so much time and effort on making West Long Branch's Recreational Sports program for kids a lot of fun, I want to say Thank you. For this, and for so much more, you will be missed. God bless you and your family, Mr. Ricciardi. Matt Rotonda.

Lindsay Colford left a message on March 29, 2012:
Where to begin as Mr. Ricciardi was quite the character. Some of my memories involve a trip to Great Adventure and he made me ride Scream Machine even though I was petrified, and luckily I have been hooked ever since. Also with having many sleepovers at the Ricciardi House, occassionally there would be some trips to the movies where my coat pockets were used to smuggle in candy and snacks for all the kids so much that I could barely move. As we got older coaching our softball teams and telling me as I ran to get the refrigerator off my back. I am sorry for your loss, and just wanted to leave you with this quote for when you look back at all these memories, "Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow."
