Michael Ricciardi, 54 of Oceanport passed away Monday, March 28th at home surrounded by his beloved wife and his loving family. Mike was born in Brooklyn, NY and was raised in Old Bridge, and had lived for many years in West Long Branch before moving to Oceanport. He was a 1974 graduate of Madison Central High School, Old Bridge. Mike served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. Mike was a member of Local 1 Elevator Union, N.Y.C., where he worked for Westinghouse and Fuji Tech. He later became a Real Estate Agent for Weichert Realtors, Ocean Twp. For many years he dedicated his time to coaching for the West Long Branch Sports Association. Mike ran the Sports Association Basketball League and had organized the West Long Branch Jam Basketball Tournament. He was a basketball referee and a baseball umpire officiating for the Shore Conference. He was a communicant of St. Jerome's RC Church, West Long Branch. Surviving is his wife, Mary Lynn Buck; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Tiffany, Roanoke, Va. And Vinny Ricciardi, East Stroudsburg, Pa.; four daughters and a son-in-law, Nicole Ricciardi, Long Branch, Jessica and Walter Alomar, Long Branch, Michelle Ricciardi, Ocean Twp. and Samantha Buck, Oceanport; his Mother, Helen Tufano, Lakewood; a brother and sister-in-law, Sal and Lisa Ricciardi, Coral Springs, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Bob Blair, Brick Twp.; nine grandchildren, Alexa, Gia, Antonio, Gabriella, Isabella, Shannon, Aidan, Isabel and Cara; and fourteen nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be Thursday, March 31st, 7-9 PM at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, NJ. Funeral mass will be Friday, April 1st, 11:00 AM, St. Jerome's RC Church, Wall St., West Long Branch. Interment services with military honors will be 3:00 PM, on Friday at the Brigadier William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. Contributions in Mike's memory may be made to St. Jerome's School, 254 Wall Street, West Long Branch, NJ 07764. As we got older coaching our softball teams and telling me as I ran to get the refrigerator off my back.
