Michael Zoppi, 82 of Long Branch passed away Friday, January 3rd at the Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was born on May 8, 1931 to Rocco and Grace Zoppi. Michael was a long time resident of Long Branch and graduated from Long Branch High School in 1949, where he received numerous awards in track and field and football. Mike was inducted into the Long Branch High School Hall of Fame. He was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War. Mike was a general contractor in Long Branch all his life specializing in roofing and siding. He will always be remembered for his humor and his kind hearted nature. Mr. Zoppi was predeceased by his parents; Rocco and Grace; four sisters, Lillian, Antoinette, Grace and Catherine; two brothers, Phillip and Alphonso. Surviving is his wife, Josephine Zoppi; five children, Michael Zoppi, Jr., Antoinette Howard, AnnMarie Schneider, Rocco Zoppi and Irene Russo; his brother, Gerald Zoppi and his sister, Beatrice Alberti; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He will truly be missed by many lives that he touched. We love you always. Visitation Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Funeral services will be Thursday, 9:30 am the funeral home. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
