Nathan Siegal, 90,formerly of Elberon, New Jersey–passed away on July 24, 2013 at the Zusman Community Hospice in Columbus, Ohio. Born in Long Branch, on February 14, 1923, he graduated from Long Branch High School and married Betty Brenner in 1945. He lived in Long Branch and Elberon for 82 years before moving to Columbus, Ohio in 2005. Nate was the founder and owner of Lincroft Hardware Co. from 1955 until his retirement in 1983. Mr. Siegal was a lifelong member of Congregation Brothers of Israel and a member of Temple Beth Torah, serving on the Board of Trustees of each. He was a Master Mason for 70 years and was Past Master of Asbury Jordan Lodge #142 F. &A.M., having served as Worshipful Master of Jordan Lodge #247 in 1955. Mr. Siegal was the first Treasurer of the United Masonic Temple Association. Nate is predeceased by wife Betty Brenner Siegal and sister Rose Siegal Fink. He is survived by son Mark and his wife Lynne of Columbus, Ohio; daughter Elaine Shooman and her husband Mark of Newton, Massachusetts; grandsons Scott Shooman and his wife Sarah, Eric Shooman and his wife Amy, Jill Shooman Peeling and her husband Bryan; and great granddaughters Jagger Shooman and Sydney Peeling. Services will be held, Sunday. July 28th at 10:00 am, Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, NJ. Interment will be at N. Linden Ave. in West Long Branch. Immediately following internment, the family will receive guests at the Congregation Brothers of Israel Synagogue on 250 Park Avenue, Long Branch, NJ. Donations in Nate’s memory may be made to the Wexner Heritage Village, 1151 College Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43209. Nate was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; a dedicated son, brother and uncle and “Your Handy, Helpful Hardware Man.†He had an endearing sense of humor and quickly carved a warm place in the hearts of all who knew him in the Wexner Heritage Village.
