Patricia Ann Weinkofsky, 80, of Little Silver passed away after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on Thursday, May 26, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Born at Patterson Army Hospital – Fort Monmouth, Patricia grew up in Long Branch and was a 1954 graduate of Long Branch High School. In 1957, she graduated second in her class from Monmouth Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, now known as Monmouth Medical Center. Patricia enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a Registered Nurse at Monmouth Medical Center and the OB/GYN practice of Federici and Malachowsky. Patricia was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 56 years, Arthur Charles in January 2014 and her cherished parents, James and Elizabeth Anton. She is survived by her children, Karen Weinkofsky, and Arthur J. Weinkofsky, Princeton. Mrs. Weinkofsky is also survived by her brothers, James B. Anton and his wife, Anna; and Donald Anton and his wife, April; sister-in-law, Marjorie Weinkofsky, Oakhurst, as well as many nieces, nephews and treasured friends, Marie Smith, Phyllis Darragh and Jane McCaffrey. She was a communicant of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church at Christ the King Parish, singing in its choir for many years. Mrs. Weinkofsky was an active member of the parish’s Social Concerns program. Patricia, an avid watercolorist and world traveler, was a member and officer of the Arts Society of Monmouth County and past President of The Monmouth Medical Nurses Association. The family would like to extend its gratitude and love to all who offered prayers and support during this difficult struggle, especially Eucharistic Minister Richard Liszanckie and Father Leon Buni. A special thank you to Dr. Rosemary Fiore and all of the nurses at Monmouth Medical Center and Monmouth Hematology-Oncology whom our mother considered her angels. To the wonderful nurses, social worker and aide from the Visiting Nurses Association, Sharon, Dana, Joann, June, Orly and Madeline, thank you for your support and care. We will never forget your kindness. Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 1st at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 101 Chelsea Avenue, Long Branch, NJ at 10 am. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery Mausoleum, Oceanport.
