Patricia G. Azzari, 89, of Jackson, passed away peacefully Monday, July 4th.
Patricia was born in Houston, TX. She spent her youth in Atlanta, Georgia graduating from Druid Hills High School and then Buckhead Business School. She met the love of her life, Walter, while he was stationed at Fort McPherson in Atlanta. From Atlanta, they moved to Bergen County, then Manalapan to raise their family.
Patricia was an avid reader, fiction and nonfiction; she mastered calligraphy, enjoyed watching Westerns and Southern cooking, as well as dancing. She had in interest in helping all homeless animals and was a NY Yankees fan. She was a member of the Manalapan High School booster club. Patricia was actively involved in her grandchildren’s lives and attended most of their school and sporting events.
In retirement, Patricia and Walter moved to Four Seasons at South Knolls in Jackson. They enjoyed many trips to Atlantic City and all the activities at their clubhouse.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband of nearly 70 years, Walter in January, 2022, her parents Logan and Laura Grant and her five siblings. Surviving are her children, Donna Ruane and her husband Dr. Joseph T. Ruane, of Sea Bright; and Dr. Glenn Azzari of Scottsdale, Arizona; and her beloved grandchildren Joseph P. Ruane of St. Augustine, FL, Dr. Thomas Ruane of Highlands and Evan Ruane and his fiancé, Anna Rzepka of Howell. She is also survived by Donna’s sister-in-law, Kim Ruane, of Sea Bright.
Visitation Tuesday, July 12th 4:00 pm until the time of her service at 6:30 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Burial Wednesday, July 13th at 10:00 am at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ.
