Peggy Lou Caffyn, 67, of Zephyrhills FL formerly of Eatontown NJ, passed away peacefully at Advent Hospital on Dec. 31. Peggy grew up in Oceanport, NJ and was a long time resident of Eatontown. She dedicated her time for many years working communications at Monmouth Medical Center, as well as other private communication companies. Peggy was an exempt member of the Oceanport first aid squad, before becoming a resident of Eatontown. She retired at the age of 65 and relocated to Florida. In her spare time you could find her outside enjoying the sun and doing crosswords or reading a book, while listening to music with her dog Muffin on her lap. She enjoyed baking for her family, decorating for every holiday, making each holiday special for everyone around her, and cruising with her Aquaholics family. She was an avid football fan and never missed an aired game. Peggy was an inspiration to all especially her daughters, whom she encouraged to pursue careers as healthcare professionals. Her energy, smile, and laugh would light up a room.
Surviving is her loving devoted husband of 45 years Edgar “Ted” Caffyn Jr., her daughter Tracie Lynn Alperstein of Zephyrhills, FL, her daughter Kristen Marie Caffyn of Melbourne, FL, son-in-law Phillip Alperstein of Zephyrhills, FL, sister-in-law Deborah Caffyn of Tinton Falls, NJ, brothers-in-law Peter Caffyn and William “Bill” Galetta of Wesley Chapel, FL; as well as uncles, aunts, many cousins and a large group of loving friends in both New Jersey and Florida.
Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not.
Entombment will be Wednesday, January 20th 11:00 am at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. For messages of condolence, please visit Peggy’s page of tributes at www.woolleyboglioli.com.
