Providence D’Arpa, 81, of Brooklyn, NY passed away Thursday October 21, 2021.
Providence was born in New York City and raised in the Bronx. She was married to Carlo D’Arpa and raised her family in Brooklyn, NY. Providence was known for her colorful personality. She loved to have fun with people. She was an avid music enthusiast, preferring music from her time. She loved food, trips to Atlantic City, dancing, and her cars. She loved being with her family, spending time together as much as possible. She was an affectionate woman and she was known for her love of dogs.
Providence is predeceased by her parents Paul and Catherine Gambino, her brothers Thomas Gambino, and Frank Gambino; her husband Carlo D’Arpa, her son Paul D’Arpa.
Providence is survived by her children John D’Arpa and his companion Antonella of Brooklyn, Josephine Sharkey and her husband John of Lincroft, and Cathy Barbieri and her husband Nick of White Plains, her daughter-in-law Maria D’Arpa of Goshen, NY; her sister Phyllis Ferro; her beloved grandchildren Elina, Carlo, Julianne, Erin, Brian and Joseph; and her beloved granddogs Luna, Cooper, Reeses, and Skylar.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 24th from 12:00-5:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel. A mass of Christian burial will be offered Monday, October 25th at 10:15 AM at St. Leo the Great R.C Church, 50 Hurleys Ln, Lincroft. An entombment will follow at St. Johns Mausoleum, Queens, NY.
