Raymond James Haigney, 87, of Union Beach, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel.
Raymond was born in Brooklyn, NY to Raymond and Dorothy Haigney on May 12, 1939. He grew up catholic, assisting as an altar server at Holy Name Church in Brooklyn, and later attending St. Michael’s All Boys School in NYC. He later married his wife, Maureen, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Brooklyn. The couple later raised their family in Middletown, NJ.
During his career, he reached the ranks of Vice President with CitiCorp. He was responsible for overseeing the Denver area, and it was a proud accomplishment in his life.
He was also active in fraternal organizations such as the Hibernians and the Republican National.
He was always one to enjoy life, partaking in horse-racing and betting, celebrating holidays with his family and friends, and enjoying a good party. He also loved to play golf at Bamm Hollow. He was very interested in politics, and was a proud conservative Republican.
Raymond is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maureen Frances Walsh Haigney.
He is survived by his three sons, Raymond, Daniel, and Terence Haigney; four grandchildren, Grant, Cole, Daniel, and Lauren; and his siblings, Robert Haigney, Eileen Coyne, and Margaret Daly.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 11:00AM at St. Leo the Great Parish, 550 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, NJ 07738.
