Raymond W. Perrotta, 94, of Toms River, died on Sunday, April 18 due to natural causes.
He was born in 1926 to the late Theresa and Michael Perrotta in Brooklyn, NY.
Raymond was raised in Brooklyn and upon graduation from Brooklyn Technical High School, was drafted into the Army and served his country during WWII. After his service, he moved to Pittsburgh, PA to begin his new job with Pan Am Airlines in business client relations. This fateful move would lead to meeting his beloved wife, Peggie. Together they moved to Chicago, Westchester, River Vale, and finally, settled in Toms River.
As a young adult, Raymond loved spending his summers in Palenville, NY and he also enjoyed traveling to Bermuda and especially to Ireland for family vacations. In Raymond’s later years he often enjoyed playing a good game of golf and playing cards. However, most important to Raymond was spending time with family, especially sharing food, and gathering for the holidays. Christmas time was always his favorite time of year.
He is predeceased by his wife Margaret Perrotta (nee Sheedy) and his siblings Cosmas, Alfred, Frank, Lawrence, Michael, and Madeline Nash. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 1 at 11am at St. Mary’s RC Church, One Phalanx Road, Colts Neck, NJ 07722.
In lieu of traditional remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Raymond’s name be made to the charity of your choice.
