Rhea M. Gordon, 97 of Long Branch, NJ passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at home surrounded by her loved ones. Rhea was born December 3, 1915 to the late David and Minnie Rose at their home in Bradley Beach, Rhea graduated from Asbury Park High School and received her nursing degree from Monmouth Hospital in 1936. She married the late Leon Gordon on March 5, 1938, they were married for over 64 years and they lived in Long Branch. Rhea was a retired RN and did public health nursing for MCOSS as well as doing private duty. She was very active in the PTA, cub scouts and the Long Branch chapter of Hadassah of which she was a life member. She was a member of Temple Beth Miriam for over 65 years and was very active in the Sisterhood of the temple for many years. Rhea was predeceased by her husband and her great granddaughter Kaila Paige Gordon. Rhea is survived by her two sons; David and his wife Joan of Long Branch and Michael and his wife Arleen of Boca Raton; a daughter in law, Sandra Baker and her husband Alan; Rhea is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Brittany and her husband Tom Rauch, Brent Gordon, Jeffery Gordon and his wife Stacey, Tammy Gordon, Artie and Rose Addeo and Lori and Don Michaels; and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday, March 24th, 11 am at Temple Beth Miriam, Lincoln Ave., Elberon, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Temple Beth Miriam, or the Deal Shore Long Branch Hadassah, checks made out to Hadassah with a note regarding the donation and mailed to Paula Eliscu, 2401 Logan Road, Ocean, NJ 07712, would be appreciated.
