Ross (Skip) Bouldin, III, 80, died on April 7, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones, from complications of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Dementia.
Skip was born in 1943, raised in Irwin, Pa. He was a star basketball player in high school, winning a full scholarship to Bucknell University. He was also a member of and forever proud of the Norwin High School Baseball team that won the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League championship in 1960 at Forbes Field. He played, in awe, in right field where Roberto Clemente once played.
At Bucknell, Skip joined the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and has enjoyed lifelong friendships, laughter and stories that only grew with time. He graduated Bucknell ROTC and served a year in Viet Nam where he was recognized for organizing a hugely successful supply drive through his church and community for the local orphanage. He returned to Fort Monmouth as an Aide De Camp to General Paul Feyereisen. He met and married the love of his life, Trudy (Hansen) at Fort Monmouth. They spent 55 years together.
His professional career was as an Executive Search Consultant, finally establishing his own search firm, Ross Bouldin Associates in 1989. He eventually wound down his career as a Yacht Broker with Sandy Hook Yacht Sales in Sea Bright which was a natural transition because his favorite and most fulfilling place to be was on the water behind the wheel of his sailboat with family and friends and music.
He shared his love of athletics and basketball with his daughters, encouraging, teaching and coaching them and their classmates through grammar school and then faithfully following their careers through high school and college.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ross and Violet Bouldin and his infant children, Dana Christine and Ross Bouldin, IV, father-in-law, Norman Hansen, and sister-in-law Sunny Barto. He is survived by his beloved wife, Trudy, his twin “miracle babies” Dana Lizabeth and Briana Leigh Bouldin. Also survived by his sisters, Nancy (John) Bowley and Susan Bouldin, his mother-in-law Vesla Hansen, sisters-in-law, Berit (Ron) Naylor and Donna Hansen, his nephews and nieces Jen and John, Emily and Evan, Sarah, Jenna and Amanda, Dylan and Julianna, his grandnephews & nieces and his dog, Riley, who knew his heart.
A private burial at sea will take place with the Honor Guard on June 22 followed by a Celebration of Life at the Monmouth Park Racetrack Turf Club from 3:00-6:00. Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home has overseen the arrangements. Thank you to them for easing our pain. A favorite charity has been The Wounded Warrior Project.
