Richard Polanish, 81, of Holmdel, passed away Wednesday at his home.
Richard was born and raised in Brooklyn; he married the love of his life Loretta and the two raised their family on Staten Island. Richard was the proud owner of Richie’s Auto Body in Brooklyn for 30+ years. He enjoyed big game hunting, the outdoors, his time as president of the Empire Short Face Pigeon Club and his second home in Pennsylvania.
Richard is survived by his loving wife Loretta; his children Christopher and his wife Melissa, Adam and his wife Catherine, Steven and his wife Linda, and Jennifer Palmieri and her husband Anthony; his sister Theresa Hermansen and her husband Eugene; and his beloved grandchildren Caitlin, Ashleigh, Julia, Maya, Dominic, Austin Thomas, Alexa, Danielle.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 20th from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733. A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 53 St. Patrick’s Place, Staten Island. A burial will follow at Moravian Cemetery.
