Robert G. Baldwin, 73, devoted Long Branch boy, son of Agnes Esposito and Irving Benjamin Baldwin passed away early on April 1st.  Bob loved the Jersey Shore, his extended family, Janice’s chicken pie, New Jersey Pork Roll, good food, Ohio State Football and Pabst Blue Ribbon. Bob loved being the catcher on the baseball team coached by his father.  He earned a baseball scholarship to Wittenberg University where he spent four of his favorite years and earned a BS in Political Science.  Later he completed his Master’s at Fairleigh Dickinson. He served two years of active service in the U.S. Army with an honorable discharge and spent 41 years with the N.J. Department of Labor working a variety of roles and retiring as Assistant Director.  Bob also enjoyed golfing and fishing with friends and relatives. When alone, he loved reading extensively and following the stock market.

He is survived by his spouse, Janice Bergstresser, his Aunt Gloria Furey, his Aunt Doris Esposito and cousins and spouses:  John and Susan Nigro, Michael and Debbie Esposito, Tom and Lisa Furey,   Gary and Dawn Furey,  Paul and Paula Esposito, Ginger and Bob Clifton, Ed and Kim Baldwin.  He will be missed by his life-long friends Keith, Marc, Steve, Laurie, Henry, Greg, Paul, Don, John, and Bill; his Trenton work buddies; his care giver Lisa Karpus; and others too numerous to name.

Mass of Christian burial will be held for family and friends April 8^th 11:00 am at Holy Trinity RC Church, 408 Prospect Street, Long Branch.  (Kindly note: for the health and safety of all guests, social distancing and the wearing of masks will be strictly enforced.)

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held in the Spring of 2022, post pandemic.  All of Bob’s friends and family will be encouraged to attend and to share stories about Bob’s sense of humor and love of life.
