Robert McIntosh, 73, of Tinton Falls passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 14th surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born in Berkeley, CA. He went to high school in Los Angeles, CA, spending many summer nights cruising Sunset Boulevard. A graduate of California State University Sacramento, Bob spent a brief time as an adjunct professor of Sociology at Yuba College, CA. One summer day, he met his wife Leona on the shores of Lake Tahoe, CA. Together they owned and operated Empress Travel in Middletown NJ for many years. Bob was smart, fun and funny and could make anyone laugh. He was most proud of his daughter, Shannon, and being a “Horse Show Dad”. He loved playing guitar and singing with a surprisingly good voice.

Bob is survived by his wife, Leona, his daughter Shannon McIntosh, husband Greg Brownstein and his pride and joy, grandson, Ryder Brownstein. Brother John McIntosh, wife Vicky. Sister-in-law, Linda Campion, husband Brian. Brother-in-law, John Stuppiello, wife Hennie. Nephews Sean Campion, wife Melissa and daughter Elizabeth. Sean McIntosh, wife Jennifer and daughters Gwendolyn and Elizabeth. Niece, Cristina Campion and husband, Zack Lobel-Fried.

He will be greatly missed, but not forgotten.

I was shocked to find out about Bob's untimely passing. I would like to wish Leona and Shannon patience and strength to endure the pain. Bob was an extraordinary individual, full of care and compassion for his fellow human beings, regardless of race, creed, nationality and religion. I learned a great deal from him during the many conversations that we had in the travel agency back in the 80s and 90s, when I would visit him and Leona to book a vacation trip. And, boy, did they deliver! Some of the best trips I had all my life! Rest in Peace, my good friend!

I heard about Bobs passing just a few days ago. Still hard to grasp. We both had some tough times in our teens. But he was there for me and I was there for him. Without Bobs friendship, I can't imagine what my life would have been. I remember Bob getting into a fight with big football player. Cant remember over what. But didn't back down. My memories came back now and I cry.

Leona, I was so saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I always considered you both friends for these past 35 years. From our first trip to St. Croix to our last Viking Cruise, Bob always had everything in place. He always had a story to tell me and I enjoyed just stopping in and saying hello so I could hear the latest news of the grandchild. My sincere sympathy to you and Shannon and the entire family. Be well.

Linda and I extend our condolences to Lee and Shannon and all of Bob's family. We have many fond memories of time spent with Bob and he will always have a special place in our thoughts. Whenever I saw Bob we always had a little ritual that always made us both laugh. I would say "How are you, Bob?" and he would answer, "Old, fat, and bald." and I would answer, "Don't be silly, Bob. You're not that bald". I will miss his sense of humor very much.
