Surrounded by Rosy’s Riveters, the strongest 56-year-old warrior peacefully fell asleep in death on May 7, 2021. Roseann Catherine DeGregorio, of Wall, looks forward to the resurrection and life in paradise. The sixth child born to Anthony and Margherita DeGregorio, Roseann was raised in Middletown. Growing up, her deafness never limited her from enjoying music, dancing, drawing and being a funny gal! Roseann spent most of her educational years at Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) and Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. Roseann’s magnetic charm formed many life-long friends.
The center of Roseann’s life was the Neptune ASL Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Roseann served as a regular pioneer and her discipline and faith is admired by many. Her devotion was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Rev 21:4, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Roseann also loved spending time with her siblings, nieces, and nephews. She was always up for a game of scrabble or solving a puzzle. Although taken from her family too soon, the challenges Roseann faced gave the family an opportunity to cherish the time remaining together. She was greatly cared for by the unselfishness of the Hoover Family.
Roseann was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Margherita (nee Bracuto) DeGregorio.
Surviving are her loving siblings Terry and Mickey Hyland, Frank DeGregorio, Maria and Kurt Lawn, Anthony DeGregorio Jr., Regina Ruther, Christine Hoover, Angela and Kevin White, and 17 nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, May 11th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 12th at 11:00 AM also at Holmdel Funeral Home.
With abundant gratitude, the family appreciates the staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for being instrumental in extending Roseann’s earthly life.
