Samuel S. Canneto, 85, of Eatontown died Friday, June 5th at Meridian of Shrewsbury. Samuel was born in Long Branch, married Linda Skeuse and moved to West Long Branch. In 1992, Samuel and Linda moved to Eatontown. Samuel worked for NJ Department of Transportation as a truck driver for 25 years. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean Conflict. In March 1952, Samuel was a cook on the 37th Hospital Train – Will Kaserne, Munich, Germany. He cooked on the troop train feeding soldiers coming back from battle. Samuel was a loving husband and enjoyed spending time with his three brothers at sporting events, Monmouth Park and the Mets. Samuel was pre-deceased by his parents, Vincenzo and Leticia Venezia Canneto, his sister Louise Foggia & her husband Carmine, his brother Frank Canneto; his sister Mary Petro & her husband John;, his brother James Canneto and his wife Elaine ; his sister-in-law Mary Jean Canneto; his brother-in-law William Payne; his sister-in-law Grace Canneto and great nephew Michael Canneto. Surviving is his wife Linda Skeuse Canneto; his brothers John Canneto, Bradenton, FL; and Richard Canneto, Little Silver; sister Anna Payne, Port Arthur, TX; his sister and brother-in-law Lauren and Michael Allegra, many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday, June 9th 4-7 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Funeral service Wednesday, June 10th 10:00 am at the funeral home.
