I attended my first Seder with Mrs. Zeisel and her family. I hadn't met them previously and only knew their grand-daughter, but I have never felt more welcome and more at home. She and her family were the most loving and nurturing people I have ever met. I was nervous, and felt out of place she kindly made me feel like one of her own; and the feeling remains. To have met a woman who so exuded love and warmth, was truly an honor. All my best to her family in this time. J.M.

My deep regrets to Shirley's family and friends; what a sweetheart she was...always looking for the bright side, the kindness, the inspiration and the good laugh. I was lucky to paint in the same room with her and hear her words of wisdom float above the easels....she'll be a welcomed spirit to the other side. Thank you,Shirlz...

I have had the pleasure of knowing Shirley for only a few years. My first and continued impressions were what a remarkable woman! Cultured, articulate, talented in the arts and current in world events are a few things that easily come to mind. She consistently displayed a caring manner that made a simple conversation meaningful and delightful. My sincere thoughts are with you Marsha and Laura during this very difficult time. Treasure the wonderful memories you made with Shirley and use them for your comfort.

Shirley studied painting with me for many, many years so I got to experience first-hand her incisive intellect, artistic hand and eye, and most of all her generosity of spirit. I will miss her dearly.

Just wondering - was Mrs. Zeisel's sister the late actress Marian Winters??
