Steven Shaw passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in Old Bridge, New Jersey. He was born in the Bronx, New York on May 1st, 1951.
He attended DeWitt Clinton High School, Bronx, NY, for a time and continued on at Central Valley High School in upstate New York.
Steve was a Sergeant in the Air Force, in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in September 1974.
For College, he attended Santa Monica College and took classes at NYU and the New School in Manhattan, NY.
He was involved in a variety of creative professions, specifically working for CBS Broadcasting where he met his wife of 33 years, Lisa Shaw. He later started his own Videography business, Video Memories, filming events such as Anniversary Parties, Bar Mitzvahs, and Weddings.
He loved rock n’ roll music and was a drummer in his local band called The Jesters. He also loved movies, some of his favorites were Mel Brooks’ The Producers and Young Frankenstein, and, Babes in Toyland (March of the Wooden Soldiers) was a childhood favorite. He loved going to the beach and going on family vacations.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Shaw, and his two daughters Samantha and Mia Shaw. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Nancy Castro, and three brothers-in-law, Mike Mina, Jeff Castro, and Fred Arias. He also leaves behind nieces, Tara Taylor, and Kathleen Shaw and nephews Scott and Steven Mina.
Visitation Tuesday February 28th 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733. Mass of Christian burial Wednesday, March 1st 10:00 am at St. Benedict Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Brigadier General William C.
