Teresita “Tita” Marfori Ona, age 80, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022 after a long hospitalization in New Jersey.
She was born June 18, 1942 in Calauan, Laguna, Philippines to Francisco and Esperanza Marfori. She immigrated to the United States in 1973, and settled in Connecticut where she raised her family. After graduating Centro Escolar University in the Philippines and moving to the US, she worked as a Registered Dietitian in several hospitals in the southern CT area until her retirement in 2004.
Teresita was a loving, generous, faithful believer in the Lord Jesus with a heart of gold. She relied on the Lord and the power of His Holy Spirit throughout her entire life. She was an active participant in her parish choir when she lived in Connecticut. She also loved to garden flowers and vegetables, and cook delicious meals. Above all, she cherished being a mother and “Lola” (grandmother) to her son, daughter, son-in-law, and 3 grandsons. Her greatest passion in life was loving others and loving her family.
Teresita is survived by her son, Jeremiah Ona of West Haven, CT, her daughter, Sharon Ona Reagan and her husband John of Colts Neck; her sister Adelaida Marfori Losloso; her beloved grandsons Jake, Julian and Joshua; and many nieces and nephews.
