Theodora Apostolacus known as Teddy, of Long Branch, passed away Monday, November 21st . Teddy was a lifelong resident of Long Branch. She was a 1937 graduate of Long Branch High School and a 1941 graduate of Trenton State College. Teddy began her career in Education at Long Branch High School teaching History. She attended Columbia University at nights and on the weekends attaining her Masters in Education, specializing in Guidance Counseling. Teddy retired as Director of Guidance from Long Branch High School. The Guidance Department has been named in her honor. Teddy is a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and the Philoptochos Society. She was also a member of the Woman’s Club of Long Branch and a member of the Monmouth County School Counselor Association. In 1990, Teddy was awarded Monmouth County Counselor of the Year. An avid world traveler, Teddy sailed several times on the Queen Elizabeth II. Teddy was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Virginia Apostolacus in 2011 and her nephew James A. Apostolacus in 2016. Surviving is her brother James T. Apostolacus, Sarasota, FL, her niece Susan Trocchia & her husband Chip, West Long Branch, her great nieces Alyssa, Carly her special cousin and close friend Dorothy George and her family that survives her in Greece. Visitation Saturday, November 26th 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1033 West Park Avenue, Ocean. Interment will be private.
