Timothy Smith, 75, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully after a long illness.
Timothy was born in Newark, lived in Stillwater, NJ before his family moved to Hazlet where he lived the remainder of his life. Timothy worked for New York Port Authority as a custodian for many years before retiring. He enjoyed jig saw puzzles, John Wayne Movies, playing the NJ lottery.
He would ride his bike every year for the MS Society from Spring Lake to Cape May. He raised over $100,000 for the MS Society and was the recipient of many awards for his work with the charity.
Timothy is predeceased by his parents Bernard A. and Elizabeth Smith.
Timothy is survived by his siblings Bernard Smith and his wife Pendell of NJ, Christopher Smith and his wife Kathy of Tennessee, Regina Lindon and her husband Thomas of NJ, Beth Fitzpatrick and her husband Robert of NJ, and Nancy Bell and her husband Aaron of Colorado; his aunt Lucille Doyle; his 10 nieces and nephews; his 13 great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 19th from 1:00-4:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel. A Burial will take place on Monday, November 21st at 1:00 PM at St. Josephs Cemetery, Toms River.
