Walter R. Brooks, 75, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Mr. Brooks was born in Union City, PA. He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S.Army. Mr. Brooks was in Sales with Comcast, in Monmouth Junction, N.J. He was the son of a Methodist minister, and he loved playing the piano and singing – he turned anything into a song. He and his wife loved attending dog shows, and he loved to show his German Shepherds, especially his Sundown, one of his favorite males. Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Marilouise (nee Peroni), his sons James of Maine and Greg and his wife Laura of Matawan, N.J., his daughters Sylvia Brooks and her husband John of Pleasantville, N.Y., and Jenny Woodward of Manalapan, N.J., two grandchildren Elizabeth and Owen, and 2 brothers Howard and Carl Brooks of Phoenix, AZ. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM, with a funeral service being held at 1:30 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 – South Holmdel Road, Holmdel NJ.
