Ellie Tava - On Cypress Neck Road left a message on November 6, 2023:
Dear Lamken Family - Wayne and I met at Physical Rehabilitation many years ago. I was fairly new to the area and had an injury to my knee. He and I had the same Physical Therapists and boy did he give her grief when she pushed him too far! He and I became instant friends and his kindness was unmatched. Throughout the years, he did much work for us and I recommended Beeler's Tree Service to everyone! Because I live on Crawford's Corner and Cypress Neck Road, I would see him every single day as he was driving up and down Crawford's corner (The Road should be renamed to Wayne Lamken)! His Truck, then his Jeep was everywhere...he would often stop at my house just to chat about everything and anything. He loved his son and grandson. Missed his wife and daughter terribly (never changed his voicemail recording) and he would tell me about his friends and family. He spoke highly of his sister Barbara and of his twin sister, too. He would tell me how much he enjoyed his son's home in PA and how much work Dwayne did to that home to accommodate him staying there. Wayne would call me 1-2x per week and we would talk about properties for sale, about his property in Puerto Rico and about the "old days" in and around Lincroft. He hated to see too much change, and spoke about this often. He enjoyed his prime rib on Thursdays and I'd often see him at The Brothers or at Pazzo's, too. He looked in on Dick Winters every week and valued his friendship with him and so many others in the area. He was a man who treated others with such kindness, and he will forever be missed and respected for the genuine goodness he gave to all who met him. The world has truly lost a special person, and I'm sure his kindness will live on within all who had the privilege to call him "friend" and especially within those who had the honor of being a part of his family. Wayne, may you rest in peace, near the heart of God and close to all who met you at Heaven's gate on! To Wayne's family, may you find God's peace that surpasses all understanding during the days, weeks, months and years ahead as you remember your beloved Wayne. - Most Sincerely, Ellie & Paul Tava & Family

Dear Mr. Lamken, You were always a kind person to everyone you knew. I will always remember when I was only 18 you took me into your house and gave me a room to stay in. You made me feel welcomed and never asked for anything in return. You made a huge difference for me at a time when I was trying to live on my own but quickly realized I wasn’t ready to do it. I will never forget you and your family as kind as you all were to me. Rest In Peace and know you were a great person. Love Donna

I met Wayne and Lynn in the 70’s through his sister Barbara. I had dinner with him the last time I was up in NJ. He went on my Alaska cruise and even though you can’t see him, he’s inside this boat which took him out salmon fishing. That’s the way it is now, we can’t see him, but he’s always in our hearts . Rest In Peace sweet man.

Dear Wayne, I know you're in Heaven now, but I'll always remember when they were doing construction work in front of Riverview Hospital and I wanted to save the beautiful dogwood tree that would have been disgarded. I called you and you were "johnny on the spot" and dug up that tree and brought it to your Mom's property. We went through school together and you were great friends with my Brother Charles. Always nice and will always remember the last time I saw you at our 60th class reunion. Rest in Peace my friend and give my Brother Charles a hug from me.
