William “Bill” Zellers, Jr., 88 of Morganville, died on Monday, May 23.
He was born in 1933 to the late William and Rebecca Zellers in Red Bank.
Bill was raised in Colts Neck and graduated from Red Bank High School. After high school, he served his country honorably in the US Army. Bill raised his family in Morganville, working nights on farms with his tractor, and working days for his father, in their family business, Rural Auto Body in Old Bridge.
He was a compassionate and gentle soul that always went out of his way to help those close to him.
Bill’s passions were sporting clay shooting, gardening, and spending time with family. He enjoyed tinkering with mechanics, often taking things apart and putting them back together.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Audrey Zellers and his son, Timothy Zellers.
Surviving is his wife, Joy Waterman-Zellers, three children, Thomas and his wife Pam Zellers of Walton, OR, Laurie Miller of Morganville, and Cote Zellers of Holmdel, his step-son, John Waterman, his brother, Carl Zellers, eight grandchildren Kaylee, Cassidy, Zoe, Ruth, Shami, Teja, Nikolas and Madison, and great-granddaughters Audrey and Alita.
Visitation from 4-8pm on Thursday, May 26 at Holmdel Funeral Holmdel, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
A funeral home service will be offered at 7:30pm. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 28 at St. Gabriel Cemetery, Marlboro.
