Donald J. McCartin, 85, formerly of Matawan passed away on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017 at his home in Spring Hill, Florida. Born in Flushing, N.Y. he lived in Matawan for many years prior to moving to Spring Hill, Florida.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Prior to his retirement, Mr. McCartin was a manufacturer’s representative in the furniture industry for almost fifty years.

He was a parishioner of Most Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church in Matawan, NJ , where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Carol McCartin. He is survived by his wife Arline Loures, and his children, son Donald McCartin Jr. and his wife Terry of Monroe Twp. NJ, daughter Mary Lehaf of Colts Neck, NJ, a son Daniel McCartin of Morganville, NJ, daughter Kathleen Cronin and her husband Dennis of Spring Hill, FL, and his son Ken McCartin and his wife Lulu of Matawan, NJ. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, his sister Carol Dioguardi of Spring Hill, FL, and by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ on Monday, May 15th, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Most Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 133 Amboy Road, Matawan, NJ. Entombment will follow at the Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel, NJ.
