Edith M. Woolley, 85, of West Long Branch passed away at her home on Thursday, May 30th. Mrs. Woolley, born Edith Price in Long Branch where she grew up before marrying Allan Woolley. They settled in West Long Branch to raise their family. Edith was the last surviving Price sibling. She was predeceased by her brothers Frank, Jack, Kenny and Dick, and her sisters Betty and Laura. Edith worked for many years in the West Long Branch school system before retiring to spend more time with her husband. Edith was an active member of Old First United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She volunteered over the years with several organizations, including Girl Scouts, Ladies Auxillary for Fire and First Aid, the WLB Community Center, West Long Branch Historical Society and the WLB Leisure Club. Surviving is her husband of 65 years Allan Woolley, WLB and their children and grandchildren daughter Robin Sobotka and granddaughter Amy Sobotka of Keansburg, son Michael and his wife Joyce and granddaughter Allison Woolley of Farmingdale, and daughter Laura Woolley of West Long Branch. Visitation will be Sunday, June 2nd, 2 to 5 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Following visitation hours, friends and family are invited to remember Edith at the home of her niece, Betty Lacy, 44 Peach Tree Lane, Little Silver. My mother loved to do things with her family. We shared many outings - going to the beach club every day in the summer - and I mean EVERY day - we only missed a day if it was actually lightning out - just rain or cold weather was not enough to keep us home. And at least once a summer, my mother climbed up the high board and did a back flip! My mother loved roller coasters and all sorts of amusement park rides. We would go to Great Adventure - my mother, my sister, my 2 nieces and I - and at the end of the day, when we counted how many rides we had gone on - my mother had always gone on the most! I have so many great memories of the things I did with mom - Girl Scouts, concerts, Broadway plays, boat trips up the Hudson, and many more. My mom was one of my best friends and my life will be very empty without her. I will miss her forever. I love you, Mom. Laurie

when i was little (and even later) my granma was my amusement riding buddy. she was never afraid of any ride and we once were stuck upside down on starship enterprise in great adventure for a few seconds. all the change in our pockets rained out on everyone below. she was also the best beach buddy, riding the waves and showing me swim techniques. i will always have those memories, and i miss her. allison

edie loved to travel: a few years ago michael and i took a road trip with her and his father. a flat tire stopped us in this pretty town somewhere in upstate ny. there were no people around, no traffic and no sounds. we saw one man walking down the street and went to ask him where the nearest gas station was. his reply was odd... he was going to watch the fourth of july fireworks in the park and invited us to go with him. as this was the first week in june, edie and i looked at each other and both said" we are in the twilight zone". michael repaired that tire in record time and we were on our way. we had a wonderful trip and edie and i laughed over that strange little town every time we looked at the pictures we took. there is an irish travel blessing i am going to condense as i only want to use two lines. May the road rise up to meet you and the wind be always at your back. edie is traveling again and i will miss her. love, joyce
