Robert E. Irvine, 80 of West Long Branch, passed away, Wednesday, May 1st at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mr. Irvine was born in Altoona, Pa. and lived in Long Branch before moving to West Long Branch in 1974. He was graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Biology. Mr. Irvine was a biology teacher at Long Branch High School , where he was respected by his colleagues and students. He retired in 1987 after 35 years. After retiring he and his wife Pat enjoyed working in their garden, sharing their tomatoes with family and friends as well as traveling the world. Mr. Irvine was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Patricia Donohoe in 2011 and his sister Helen Elizabeth Irvine in 2004. Surviving is a brother, James Irvine, Medford, NJ; two brothers-in-law, J. Michael and his wife Jane Donohoe, West Long Branch and Anthony Donohoe, Hillsborough; two sisters-in-law, Carmela LoCicero, West Long Branch and Maureen and her husband, Michael Altenau, Long Branch; seven nieces and nephews and 4 great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, May 4th, 10am until the time of the service at 12 noon at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch.
