Mary Keating Walsh of Elberon passed away Thursday November 24th at Barnabas Health Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Monmouth Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and friends. Mrs. Walsh was born in Jersey City and moved to Long Branch in 1963. She was a communicant of St. Michael's RC Church, Long Branch. Mrs. Walsh was a member of the Women's Club of Asbury Park. She was employed by the Long Branch Board of Education where she worked as a Secretary for twelve years before retiring in 1998. Mrs. Walsh loved to crochet and was well known for the beautiful afghans she made. She will be best remembered for her warm and caring personality which won her a wide circle of lasting friendships. She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary Keating. Surviving is her husband of 53 years Gerald W. Walsh; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Patricia and Greg Andersen, West End and Eileen and Michael Clapp, Elberon, NJ; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Julie and Walter Irwin, Succasunna, NJ and Carolyn Dickinson, West End; three grandchildren, Christopher, Collin and Lauren and several other family members and friends. Visitation will be Monday, November 28th, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 29th, 10:30 AM at St. Michael's RC Church, Ocean Avenue, Long Branch. Interment will follow at the New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
