Joseph V. Forlenza

March 3, 1937 - April 20, 2020

Joe Forlenza was a force of nature. Sometimes he would run through your life like a Tasmanian devil, at other times he would lose himself in the joys he found in life: fishing, body surfing in the Atlantic Ocean, drinking Rob Roys and having a good run on a hot table in Las Vegas.

Not one to suffer fools easily, he was a man of insight and action. Pity the person who came out on the wrong side of his judgment. But this driven, strong-willed, intelligent man was also extremely generous with his money and knowledge.

His clear perception was often sought after in matters of business, finance and where to get the best meal in town. His drive, discipline and devotion to his vision took him from his humble beginnings to many great achievements and accomplishments.

He also grew in spirit, which he deepened into when he transformed into a loving and caring husband to our mom Fran. As ever, allowing his situation to transform him into what he needed to be.

What we will most miss about him is his ability to see the world with clarity and live his life in accordance with what he saw.

We love him and we will miss him dearly.

I will always remember Joe as one of nicest and smartest brokers I ever worked with. We became friends many years ago when we were both at Merrill Lynch. I will always remember our fishing together, Dinners at great restaurants and Atlantic City. A great man!

There was never a dull moment with Uncle Joe. He made all our visits special. He took us everywhere and treated us to the best of everything. He will truly be missed. Condolences to Joseph, Jeffery, Jack and Jackie. Love to you all.

Joe was a friend and mentor to me for over 40 years. i will miss our weekly calls to each other and of course going out to eat!

We never met our good friend Joe’s parents, but we imagine that they were exceptional to have produced such a son.

I am so saddened to hear of your loss. I loved your father. We worked together at Morgan and we would still get together for breakfast to catch up. There is no one like him. He was truly a wonderful man both inside and out. He will be greatly missed. I will miss hearing his voice asking about the market, telling me a story and hearing him say "well that's it kid" sending lots of love your way.
