Gloria D'Vorkin, 87, formerly of Tinton Falls and Long Branch, died on December 2nd at the Cascade of Verdae, Greenville, SC. Mrs. D'Vorkin was born in Brooklyn, and had lived for many years in long Branch before moving to Tinton Falls in 2004. She recently moved to Greenville, SC in 2014. Gloria was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and was awarded her Masters in Education by Douglass, College, Rutgers University. She retired in 1994 after 32 years as a Teacher and Department Chair of Home Economics at Shore Regional High School. Mrs. D'Vorkin developed a grant for the high school, which brought a play school to the High School for students to learn marriage and the family as well as child development. She was a long time member of Congregation Brothers of Israel, Long Branch. Mrs. D'Vorkin was pre-deceased by her husband Abraham D'Vorkin in 2013. Surviving are two children, Lewis D'Vorkin and his wife, Denise and Helaine Meyers and her husband Eric; two grandchildren, Jared and Danielle Meyers. Graveside funeral services officiated by Rabbi Braun, Friday, Dec. 5th, 9;30 am at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. The Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
