I only learned today of Dr. Brody's passing. While I didn't know him closely, the few times we met had a very deep and positive impression on me. His courage in the face of adversity was exemplary. His reputation as clinician and teacher, as you know, brought high regard from students and colleagues. I sincerely hope that his family will somehow find comfort from the excellent example that he was and will continue to be. Sincerely, Bruce D. Fisher, MD
To the Family I am so sad that Dr. Brody is gone, but I know he is in a better place. Dr. Brody was my doctor for about 2 years, and not only did he give me great advice about my health but he told me the truth, and as much as that hurt I really appreciated it, and because of him my life has truly changed. I will miss him dearly! I will always think of him.
To all in the Brody Family: In life, most strive to find that one thing they leave behind that lets them know that they have spent their time on earth doing as God intended. One thing for sure is that Dr. Brody did indeed do that. Never have we experienced a doctor so careing and patient involved. Never had we heard of a doctor that would stay all night with a family such as ours on Mom's last night of hospice, sleeping near her bed, providing constant care. Never have we met anyone who so impressed us of his passion for his profession, his family, and his friends. Dr. Brody was an inspiration and role model for many. Growing up in Teaneck with you all, Jim's presence was huge; the big brother enforcer who always kept us in line, and a young man who always seemed to cut his own path. As your "almost" next door neighbor and friend, he stood out to me as a truly unique individual that would make his mark on the world. While I've been out of touch with you all for many years, from what I've read, it's clear that he has done exactly that. We were so sorry to hear this devastating news, and our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Dear Brody Family, My mother, Jane Corbin had been in Dr. Jim's care while at Jersey Shore a year and a half ago. He had been brought in to consult with her regarding her condition. I had the pleasure of meeting Jim and what I will remember most was his warmth and caring eyes. He was genuine and caring with my mother, and I truly appreciated his attention to detail with my mom. Not all doctors carry that quality. Jim did. While I knew from the moment I met him that he was ill, I could tell he was a man of hope and passion. Our church (Hope Presbyterian, Tinton Falls) has been holding Jim up in prayer for a very long time. I am certain that he is at our Lord's side this very moment. Please accept my love and prayers to each of you at this difficult time. Rejoice in the memories, they will carry you through. Cyndie Van Bavel
Kerry, Know that you and all your family are in my prayers during this time of sorrow. Jim's smile and gracious presence will be missed by us all. With love, Bob
Sorry to hear of the loss of Jim, clearly the best of men, husband, father, friend, internist and professor....and so much more!!! Jim was always generous with his time, effort and boundless energy!! I miss working out with him at NY Health and Racquet Club, our med school days, and Giants Football with awesome barbeque! Long Island beaches were a great getaway when we lived a few blocks away from each other in NYC. My deepest condolences to his fantastic wife, Kerry, three beautiful girls and the rest of his extended family. I join you in sorrow and only have comfort in knowing he is in a better place looking down on us all now.
Kerry, Kate, Emma and Mary, Our family sends you our deepest sympathies. Your husband and dad was a compassionate, wonderful man. He helped us through a scary day a year ago last March but fortunately, it turned out to be something less serious. Dr. Brody's compassion and understanding of this scary event helped us get through it. I'm sure that he has helped many others in the same way. He will be missed by many but our hearts go out to you and your family. Dave, Patti, Brittany and Brendan Tschaen
To the family of Dr Brody, What a wonderfully happy and friendly individual we were all blessed to share time with. Working at JSUMC, not a morning went by when he would not acknowledge me sitting at the window manning the switchboard. It could be the rainiest, coldest, nastiest day out, but the smile on his face showed he was ready for anything.. I am truly sorry for your loss, but take comfort in the knowledge that he touched many lives here at JSUMC. Tracy Kaiserian
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family's loss.
