Betty Brenner Siegal, 86, formerly of Elberon, New Jersey, passed away on November 8, 2010 at the Wexner Heritage House in Columbus, Ohio. Mrs. Siegal was a lifelong member of Hadassah and a member of Congregation Brothers of Israel. Born in Sasow, Poland on July 16, 1924, she immigrated to Asbury Park in 1938, graduated Asbury Park High School and married Nathan Siegal in 1945. She lived in Long Branch and Elberon for 60 years before moving to Columbus, Ohio in 2005. Betty is predeceased by sisters Jeanette Keidan and Phyllis Marx. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Nathan Siegal, son Mark Siegal and his wife Lynne of Columbus, Ohio; daughter Elaine Shooman and her husband Mark of Newton, Massachusetts; grandsons Scott and Eric Shooman; granddaughter Jill Shooman Peeling and her husband Bryan; and sister Sally Glascom. Services will be Wednesday, November 10th, 1:00 PM at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Interment will be at Congregation Brothers of Israel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Immediately following internment, the family will receive guests at Congregation Brothers of Israel 250 Park Ave., Elberon.
