Anna A. “Chickie” Maher, 87, Oceanport, passed away Tuesday, October 17th at home.

Born and raised in Long Branch, she lived briefly in Eatontown before moving to Oceanport 59 years ago.

She was the long-time secretary to former Senator S. Thomas Gagliano and the Long Branch firm carrying his name. Chickie was a parishioner of Holy Trinity RC Church and sang in their choir since she was a child. She was a member of the Oceanport and Long Branch Senior Citizens Clubs and a member of the Associates of St. Lucy Filippini.

Chickie was predeceased by her loving husband Ron and her best friend Camille Rosano. Surviving are her children Rick Maher (Kim Johanson), Wall Township and Ronelle Maher, Oceanport; her brother & sister-in-law Fred & Mary Ann Acerra, West Long Branch; her sister Filomena Diebold, Shrewsbury; her sister-in-law Rita Matassa, Roseburg, Oregon and her grandchildren Holley Maher, Richard Maher, Jr and Christin Vivona.

Visitation Friday, October 20th 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, October 21st at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity RC.
