Bernadette Cannon left a message on December 31, 2020:
I just heard about my friend and my nurse Laurie's, passing. I send my condolences to Laurie's husband and children. Laura started visiting when our children were in college and together we shared our graduations, new jobs, wedding celebrations and best of all grandchildren. We also shared the difficuties of raising children into adulthood and our aging parents. We shared the commonality of our Italuan backgrounds and of course many recipes. Laurie handled her illness like no other. She was so strong and lived with a great quality of life. She lived life to the fullest. I'm sure my reflections do not come as news to the family. But I want the Stoop family to know how I admired and appreciated Laurie. Truly, a one of a kind person.
Frank J Vaccarelli left a message on December 4, 2020:
I went to school with Laura's brothers, Steve, and Jimmy. I got to see Laura quite often walking her dog past my house in Little Silver. She always stopped to talk about the girls-hers, and mine. One summer I had the pleasure to coach a girls' softball team with Laura. She was an excellent coach, gifted athlete, and an outstanding, kind, caring person. May God Bless Laura. My prayers are with Henry, Lauren, Kristen, Jimmy, and Steve. Frank Vaccarelli

Dear Henry, Kristen, Lauren & family, I am so sorry to learn of Laurieś passing. I remember telling her 5 years ago that I thought her outlook and perseverance were an inspiration. I believe she was hoping to take an exercise class the day after traveling into NYC for a treatment. And no matter when Id sent her a note whether it was just to wish her well or ask for her Alaskan cruise advice, she would always respond quickly and kindly. Iḿ sure her great love of all of you and her beautiful grandchildren gave her great strength. So happy she got to meet your newest addition! I know your loss will be filled in time with all the beautiful loving memories you shared. God bless all of you. Sending love & prayers as you say goodbye. Lin

Laurie was my nurse and friend for almost 16yrs. Our monthly visits were filled with laughs, family updates and tips on the best restaurants. She was by far the most courageous and strongest person I ever met. She is in my heart, as are all in her family.
Bonnie Blackman left a message on December 2, 2020:
Laurie was a fighter in every sense of the word. She never let circumstance or health keep her from living life, and loving her family 1000%. She always had a smile and a warm hello Laurie, preferred walking not riding, even when logic made the latter a better choice. She didn't take the easy way, she did it her way. and on her terms. She will be missed. Bonnie and Michael Blackman

Shes in the sun, the wind, the rain. She's in the air you breathe with every breath you take. She sings a song of hope and cheer, there's no more pain, no more fear. You'll see her in the clouds above, hear her whisper words of love. You'll be together before long and until then, listen for her song.
