Anita S. Bonfiglio, 89, Middletown, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 12th.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Anita graduated from Bay Ridge High School. She worked as a legal secretary in New York City before starting her family. Anita later worked in Cosmetic Sales for Macy’s Brooklyn. In 1990, Anita and her husband, Joe, moved to Monmouth County.
Anita loved cooking and entertaining and was the ultimate hostess. When she was not entertaining, Anita enjoyed dancing, cooking, and traveling, particularly to Austria, Alaska and Hawaii, and going to the beach in Montauk. She loved to lunch at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank.
Anita was an elegant woman, with strong values. Family and friends were the most important part of Anita’s life. She will be dearly missed by all.
Anita was predeceased by her husband Joseph and her mother, Eva. Surviving is her son & daughter-in-law Joseph & Diane Bonfiglio; her sisters & brothers-in-law Marilyn & Robert Ward and Christine & Bob Fornes; her grandchildren Christopher and his wife Theresa, Jonathan and Lauren, her great granddaughter Aurelia, and a son Thomas.
Visitation Friday, January 15th 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Entombment will follow at 1:00 pm at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, 549 Route 520, Marlboro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Anita, to Church of St. Catharine, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733.
