Galina Gulakova, 95 of Old Bridge died on Friday, December 31.
She was born in Gomel, Belarus in 1926 to the late Elena and Gregory Gulakov.
Galina was an engineer economist for Gomselmash, a big machine manufacturer used worldwide. She moved to America at 60 years old with her husband and children after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 in search of a better life for her family. Galina loved spending time with her family most of all.
She is predeceased by her husband, Lev Bor, and five siblings Lydmila, Maria, Demitri, Michael, and Valentine.
Surviving are her children Olga and her husband Guy Cusumano of Holmdel, and Sergey and his wife Alla Bor of Fairlawn, her granddaughter Kate Opsha, and two great-grandchildren Nicole and Victoria.
A Graveside service will be offered on Tuesday, January 4th at 11am at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, Marlboro.
