Stephanie (Idec) Larasso, 94, of Colts Neck, passed away on the morning of January 28th, surrounded by her family.
Stephanie was born and raised in Linden, a graduate of Linden High School. Shortly after High School, she would meet the love of her life, Luciano, and the two instantly fell in love. They would marry in 1950 and thus began their true love story. Their mutual respect and bond for one another was an example of what true love is. This foundation of family values was passed down to their daughters, and brought them all closer together. Stephanie was the rock for her family, and it was her family that fulfilled her most in life.
We remember Stephanie, and the simple joys in life that she found rewarding. She loved to knit, especially during the holidays for St. Mary’s church & local hospitals, and gardening was her passion. Family dinners at their Lavallette beach house were special memories – here you would find Stephanie and Lou cooking for everyone in the kitchen. The Grandchildren could always count on their Gamma for being in the bleachers, cheering them on at every one of their sports games. She took pride in everything she did, and lit up every room she entered.
Mom, your elegance, class, strength, and devotion to our family has set a high standard for us all, and we will carry you and all of our wonderful memories in our heart’s forever.
Stephanie is predeceased by her loving husband Luciano Larasso; her grandson Luciano; and her siblings Jean Valle, Willie Idec, and Rudy Idec.
Stephanie is survived by her children Maria Beninato and her husband Joseph of Colts Neck, Johanna Riggi of Jackson, and Lois Merlo and her husband Michael of Colts Neck; her sister Dorothy Halasnik; her grandchildren John and his wife Katie, Jimmy and his wife Christine, Luciano and his wife Jennifer, Giuseppe, Jordanna, Louie, Stefana and her husband Daniel, Luciana; and her beloved great grandchildren Giovanni, Dominic, Victoria, Charlotte, Hudson, Luciano II, Angelo and Luca.
