My memories of Skippy go back a long time ago when my uncle George took me to Skippy’s hair salon and another time when we went to his bar and grill. I was pretty young at the time so I don’t remember details, there were other times that we went to funerals and weddings and Skippy would treat you like a brother or a sister when we came. There was a time that he a had a horse called Hilly Joe that he brought to Penn National Races in Harrisburg I think that was in the late 70’s he left my Brother Steve know that he was bringing the horse for a race and brother Steve and Brother Mike, Uncle Frank and I went to the races, we didn’t have any luck betting on his horse but had a great time just being around Skippy. Another great memory was when Skippy’s Brother Mike and sisters Janet and Blanch came to our cabin in Shade Gap Pa, for a family reunion. I can’t remember the year but it had to be over 10 years ago It was a surprise for the rest of the Dudick’s I know they had a long trip that day to travel to our place in Pa. for a couple of hours and then drive back to NJ. One other thing that we will miss and have missed for the last couple of years is when Skippy would call my brother Mike or nephew Steve on the holidays to wish everyone a nice day and ask if we needed anything, we would pass the phone around to say hello and talk for a little while. We didn’t know why we haven’t heard from him in a while but didn’t realize his illness. I could probably think of other things to write but I better leave room for other to write something nice. Skippy was a generous man and was respected by all.
Rest in Pease Skippy until we meet again!
