Patricia Christensen was born on March 17, 1947 on Staten Island, New York, where she was raised by her parents Anna and Charles Piazza alongside her siblings Charlene, Charles, Judy, and John. Patricia attended St. John’s High School, and soon after began her professional career working for the New York Stock Exchange.

On April 3, 1965, Patricia married Carl Christensen. In 1970, they moved with their three young children to Eatontown, New Jersey, where Patricia quickly became a beloved member of the community. In 1971, she joined the Eatontown Police Department as a school crossing guard. Over nearly five decades, Patricia safely crossed three generations of children and became a familiar, reassuring presence to countless families until her retirement in 2019. She was often heard cheerfully saying, “Okay kids, have a good day!” as she guided children across the street.

Patricia is survived by her devoted husband of many years, Carl Christensen, and their three children: Charles, Pamela Hicks, and Dawn. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Christina, Laura, Kenneth, Matthew, Kelsey, and Michael-and one great-grandchild, Knox.
