Evelyn Ford, 93, of Matawan, died on Tuesday, February 3.
Evelyn was born in Orange, NJ to the late Rose and Joseph Rojy. She was a graduate of West Side High School class of 1950 in Newark, NJ. After high school, Evelyn began working, and attended secretary school. She worked in Real Estate for Coldwell Banker, as a secretary and teacher’s aid at Edison Jr. and WestfieldHigh Schools, and as a secretary for Fidelity Union Trust Company.
Evelyn was a creative soul who enjoyed crafts, crocheting, sewing bags and pocketbooks. Most of all, Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family. She shared God’s word everywhere she went.
She is predeceased by her parents, and her granddaughter, Heather.
Evelyn is survived by her beloved husband George T. Ford, Jr., their children Dr. David and his wife Kerry Ford of South Carolina, Darren and his wife Janet Ford of Ohio, Darlene and her husband Andrew Kiss of Holmdel, her brother Thomas and his wife Janet Rojy of Hillside, seven grandchildren Ryan (Breanna), Russell (Brittany),Rachel (Steven), Daniel, Tyler (Camille), Trevor, and Heidi, seven great-grandchildren William, Myles, Eden, Sigurd, Shiloh, Viktor, and Luther, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 10 from 4pm – 7pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Funeral Home Service will be offered on Wednesday, February 11 from 10am. Burial will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
