Kimberly Danielle Ledig, beloved daughter, mother, and sister, passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2026, at the age of 48. Born in Edison and raised in Matawan, Kimberly graduated from the Marine Academy of Science and Technology at Sandy Hook before receiving her Bachelor’s of Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Florida Tech in Melbourne, FL, where she worked for many years in the defense industry.
In her youth, she was a certified scuba-diver and an active member of her college crew team. More recently, she has spent her time caring for her beloved daughter Scarlet and preparing delicious meals for her family.
Along with her daughter, Scarlet Ella Barnes, Kimberly leaves behind her parents, Walter and Barbara, and brother Keith of Melbourne, FL, her brother Kevin, his wife Pamela, and their two children Zoey and Nicholas of Colts Neck, her partner Joseph Craparo of North Babylon, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Kimberly was a good person with a kind heart and will be dearly missed.
A celebration of her life and a remembrance will be held at 2:30pm, Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S Holmdel Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733. Friends and family will be gathering at the funeral home from 11am to the time of the service.
