Robert “Bob” Anthony Keenan, of Zurich, Switzerland, passed away on Tuesday, May 12.
Bob’s generosity and brilliant mind, and adventurous, kind spirit, touched so many lives. He will forever live in the hearts of his best friend Danica; their four daughters, Lydia, Diana, Christine, and Kelly; six grandchildren, Sara, Mason, Nikolas, Chloe, Christian, and Avery; and his siblings, Jeanne, Mary, Liz, and Paul; and many nieces and nephews; and Iwona, and many dear friends in Switzerland.
Born in Teaneck, NJ to the late Ann and Robert A. Keenan, Bob was raised in Holmdel, graduating from Christian Brothers Academy, followed by Stevens Institute of Technology. While he and his wife built their family together, he worked at his father’s company in the WTC, then began his career in software development. One of his proudest achievements was his work in Switzerland, where he devoted 13 years to the success of LzLabs and was excited to begin a new chapter with BÄR Research GmbH.
Bob never turned away from helping others and was there for so many. He embraced life fully, traveling the world, skydiving many times, biking thousands of kilometers, hiking, and skiing the Alps.
In the end, his heart led him home to New Jersey, where his beautiful spirit left this world surrounded by his family.
Always and forever.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, May 22 from 12pm – 2pm, with a brief service at 2pm, at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. Burial will follow at Holmdel Cemetery.
