Edward Valentine Hinds, 80, of Holmdel, passed away Monday surrounded by his family.

Edward was born in Atlantic City and raised in Egg Harbor City; he graduated from Southern Regional High School and began his career at NJ Bell but eventually enlisted in the Army. He served his country proudly and returned home with the love of his life, Nadine, they would marry on December 21^st, 1968, and raised their young family in Middletown.

Edward had a 40-year career with NJ Bell/Verizon, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family, he especially enjoyed going to his kids and grandkids sporting events. He could go to six games on a weekend for his grandkids and that is what would make him most happy. Edward enjoyed cooking he was especially known for his elaborate Sunday breakfast meals

Edward is survived by his wife, Nadine; his children Eric Hinds and his wife Karen, and Jason and his wife LeeAnn; his sister Valerie Smith and her husband William; his beloved grandkids Eric, Connor, Abigal, Anthony, Adriana, and Ava and his nieces Lisa Smith and Tracy Walton.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 1^st from 4;00-8:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 2nd at 11:00 AM at The Barn on S. Holland Road, Holmdel, NJ.
