Bernard F. Boglioli, Sr., Esq., 89, of Long Branch died on Sunday, May 8th at the Monmouth Medical Center, with his family at his side. Bernie was born in Franklin, NJ on April 7, 1927 and was raised and lived in Newton, NJ before moving to Long Branch in 1962. He was graduated from Newton High School and Blair Academy, Blairstown. Following his graduation from Blair he went to work for Selected Risks Insurance Company, Branchville, and married his beloved Audrey Kennedy in 1950. Bernie enrolled in St. Peter's College, Jersey City, commuting each night after work in Newton to his studies in Jersey City. He was accepted in New York Law and continued his working and commuting schedule from Sussex County, while raising two children with Audrey. His formal education took 11 years. He was graduated from New York Law and admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1962. He and Audrey and their, now three sons moved to Long Branch and he joined the Law Offices of M. Raymond McGown, where he later became a partner and the firm was renamed McGowan, Saling, Boglioli and Moore. In 1969 Bernie left the firm to found his own firm, the Law Offices of Bernard F. Boglioli, Attorney at Law in West Long Branch. He practiced there before merging his firm into the firm of Hanlon, Boglioli and Hanlon. In 2008 he became of Counsel at the Law Firm of Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst and Doukas, New Brunswick, where he practiced until March 16th of this year. He was admitted to practice in front of the United States Supreme Court, Bernie was a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, The Monmouth County Bar Association and the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey. He appeared and argued before the Supreme Court of New Jersey. He was a lecturer of the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education, lecturing on the use and abuses of expert Witnesses. In 2008 Bernie was recognized by the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey Association as Trial Attorney of the Year. He had a varied career from representing Insurance carriers, public entites, pro bono for any church and anyone who ever needed his help. The practice of law and helping people was his passion. He was a member of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher, a Papal Knighthood. He was inducted at St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York City. Bernie served over 25 years as a Trustee of St. Michael's RC Church, and was recognized by Father Weiser and the church with a beautiful statue in the church vestibule. For many years he and his beloved wife Audrey enjoyed traveling throughout the country to Notre Dame football games. He was a member of the Deal Golf and Country Club. Bernie served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. His greatest passion and love was his family. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Audrey Kennedy Boglioli; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bernie and Wendy Boglioli, Seattle, WA, Bob and Joan Boglioli, Steamboat Springs, CO and Bill and Denise Boglioli, Long Branch; his grandchildren, Bonnie and Nate Randall, Bernie and Karen Boglioli, Taylor Boglioli, Stephen and Sarre Boglioli, Whitney and Bryan Lodigiani, Ally Boglioli , Drew Boglioli, Chris Boglioli and Scott Boglioli; and his great grandchildren, Keagan, Savio, Ave Maria, Charlotte, Emma, Ainsley and Tyler. Visitation will be Thursday, May 12th and Friday, May 13th, 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, 10 am, St. Michael's RC Church, Long Branch. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch.
