Carlo J. Giuffre, 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 7, 2023.
Born on June 28, 1931, to Joseph and Grace Giuffre, Carlo was raised in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, NY. He attended New Utrecht High School and NYU. Following a stint with the gas company, he was employed by Beneficial Finance Company, where he climbed the ladder from collections to upper management over 35 years.
In 1954, in Brooklyn, NY, Carlo met and swept off her feet the love of his life, Doris. In 1955, they married with a king’s bridal party at St Finbar Church with a reception at Benson Chateau. In 1956, Carlo’s first son, Glen, was born, followed by his first daughter, Karen. He continued to expand his family with three more children, Christopher, Linda, and Cindy.
In 1991, Carlo and Doris moved to Tinton Falls, NJ, where they purchased and maintained a 100-year-old home. The neighbors knew Carlo and Doris best for the abundance of holiday decorations and lights for Easter, Halloween, and, most importantly, Christmas.
Carlo was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He adored hosting family gatherings around his oversized dining table with endless homemade Italian food and wine. Among his passions were long drives, traveling from grocery store to grocery store with circulars and coupons, and vacationing. He was a diehard fan of the Rangers and his beloved New York Yankees.
