Concetta Ciccone, 92, of Manalapan, died Wednesday, February 14th surrounded by her loving family.
Concetta was born in New York, New York. She graduated from Bay Ridge High School Annex. She met and married the love of her life, the late Thomas Ciccone. They raised their children in Brooklyn, New York in the same home Concetta was raised in from a little girl.
Concetta was a spit-fire. She was strong, outgoing, loving and compassionate. She and her husband retired to Florida where she enjoyed playing Canasta, bowling and socializing with friends. After her husband’s passing she returned to New Jersey. She found passion in crocheting, cooking and traveling. Later when she met Mike, her companion of 30 years, she traveled and cruised to Alaska, through the Panama Canal, Bermuda and the Bahamas. She also loved to visit our country’s National Parks. She was infamous for her Christmas Eve dinners of Seven Fishes and her rice ball and sausage bread recipes. In the last two years, she attended Parker Adult Day Care of Monroe which she fondly called “school”. She thrived in this environment and loved the live performances where she would dance the day away. She spent her last 4 months in Sunrise of Marlboro. She loved the independence this gave her and made friends immediately. She was often found helping other residents. “My heart is bigger than my body” will ring true through all her family and friends, and anyone that had the privilege of knowing her.
Concetta is predeceased by her loving husband Thomas Ciccone and her daughter Jennifer Sutera. She is survived by her devoted children Thomas Ciccone and his wife Karen, Laurence Ciccone and his wife Christine, Louis Reale and his wife Shawn, and Stephen Sutera; adoring grandchildren Craig, Stephen, Thomas, Stephanie, Raquel, Alyssa, Allie, Lauren, Kimberly, Cynthia, and Jackie and their spouses; and 10 great grandchildren. Blessed with such a large and loving family, she will continue to be loved and dearly missed by all.
