Dorothy “Dot” Bruno Rubino, 86, Tinton Falls, formerly of Long Branch, died on Friday, May 26th at Jersey Shore Care Center.
Dot was born in Long Branch to Susan Green Bruno and Arthur Pat Bruno. She lived in Long Branch all of her life before moving to Middletown in 2008. She married Dominick “Junie” Rubino, Jr. in 1963. She moved to Tinton Falls in 2021.
She attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Academy and the Lyceum School in Long Branch. She received an “Outstanding Performance Award” in 1988 from the New Jersey Sports Authority and Expo, previously known as Monmouth Park Jockey Club, where she worked as telephone room supervisor. She retired in 1999.
Dot was a communicant of St. Anselm’s RC Church and a former member of the Deborah Heart and Lung Association, Long Branch Chapter.
Dot was predeceased by her parents, Susan and Arthur Bruno; and her brother Arthur Bruno. Surviving is her husband Dominick; her daughter & son-in-law Cindy & Mike Cusano and her sister Suzanne Childers.
Graveside service Friday, June 2nd at 11:00 am at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
