Frances “Chickie” I. Miller, 94, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Chickie was born and raised in Long Branch and a graduate of Long Branch High School where she was captain of the cheerleading squad. She was the daughter of Joseph E. Mazza and Nellie M. Mazza, and sister to Angelo and Joseph. Following high school she married her childhood sweetheart, John Miller, and they settled in West Long Branch to raise their young family.

After high school Chickie graduated from Catherine Gibbs School in New York City. She was employed at Fort Monmouth, Shadow Lawn Savings Bank, and later at Maecom.

She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years John H. Miller. Chickie was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children Judith, John and Karl, son-in-law Mark, and her grandchildren Frances and Andrew.
