Frank A. Poole, 93 of Atlantis, Florida, passed away in West Palm Beach, Fl. on March 28th. Born in Long Branch, NJ, the son of George W. and Mary A. Poole, where he graduated from Long Branch High School. He was a veteran of World War II, enlisting as a Private in the Army and attained the rank of Major. He served with the Quartermaster Corps in the China-Burma-India theater during WWII. After the war he started in the cosmetic industry with Richard Hudnut as a senior salesman in New England. Following that he went with La Cross as a field sales manager for the USA. In 1955 he was appointed marketing and sales manager for Roger & Gallet in New York City. In 1957 he formed Frank A. Poole Inc. Manufacturers Representative in cosmetics and toiletries. The company is now run by his son Michael Craig Poole. Mr. Poole was also President and owner of Jersey Shore Travel, Oakhurst, NJ for 23 years before it was sold in 1994. He was the first President of the Young Republicans of Long Branch, formed after WWII. He was active in the County and State Republican Party. He was Chairman of the Long Branch, NJ Planning Board during the time of the Shrewsbury River redevelopment. Mr. Poole was a member of “The Foregars of Americaâ€, the oldest cosmetic industry organization in the U.S. He was a member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). He was also a member of the New Jersey Seniors Golf Assn., SKAL Club of Northern NJ, a Scotsmaster graduating in the Signet library in Edinburgh, Scotland, Deal Golf & Country Club, Deal, NJ for 36 years, Atlantis Golf Club, Atlantis, FL, St. Michael’s Catholic Church, West End, NJ, and Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Lantana, FL. He is preceded in death by his oldest son Peter F. Poole, 1998, and Philip D. Poole, 2002. He is also preceded in death by his brothers George Poole, Monroe V. Poole, Charles A. Poole, Wilbur B. Poole, George Poole and two sisters, Marion Poole and Hazel Beatty. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jane Cattanach Poole and 3 sons: F. Mark Poole (Linda), Boynton Beach, FL; Michael Craig Poole (Cindy), Freehold, NJ; and Vincent H. Poole, Lake Worth, FL; a granddaughter, Kathryn E. Poole, Boynton Beach, FL; 3 grandsons: Bryan M. Poole (Amy), Phoenix, AZ, John F. Poole and Shawn M. Poole, both of Freehold, NJ. Visitation will be Thursday, April 4th, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, April 5th, 10:30 am at St. Michael’s RC Church, Long Branch. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch.
