Fred J. Huffman, Jr., 69, of Hazlet, passed away on Saturday at his home, surrounded by his family.

Fred was born in Queens and raised on St. Marks Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. He would graduate from St. Agnes High School in Manhattan and then graduate from Kingsborough Community College. After college, he began his career as a butcher in Brooklyn, a job he kept for many years before moving to UPS and then finally USPS Manhattan where he would retire after a full career.

Fred would marry the love of his life, Helen, on June 12^th, 1977, and the two would start their lives together in Brooklyn before moving to Hazlet to raise their son, Fred III. Fred was a handy man who enjoyed the Jets, bowling, darts and his trips to Ireland with his wife & family.

Fred is predeceased by his brother Walter.

Fred is survived by his loving wife Helen, his son Fred & his wife Chelsea, his siblings Linda, Denise, Bob, & Steven, and his Aunt Alice.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 15^th from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered Friday, February 16^th at 10:00AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 NJ-36, Union Beach. At the request of the family, Fred will be privately cremated following the service.
